When you’re at a crossroads, weighing possibilities, it’s often a simple memory that reminds you who you truly are. For me, it goes all the way back to Mwiki, when I was just twelve years old, charging neighborhood kids for rides on my prized bicycle.
Back then, I wasn’t thinking about economics or business strategy. I just knew my mother, recently out of work, could use a little help with some sukuma wiki money …and maybe I could still afford a few childish indulgences too. Looking back, that dusty bike and the endless queues of eager kids taught me some of my first lessons (supply and demand). It planted the seed for a lifelong passion for entrepreneurship, a passion that would later evolve into blending business with technology to solve real-world problems.
Trusting the Process: Discovering My True Calling
Growing up, I was always drawn to two things: technology and strategic thinking.
Whether tinkering with gadgets, battling it out on chessboards against opponents twice my age, or getting lost in sci-fi books and cartoons, I realized early that problem-solving was where I felt most alive.
Later, hobbies like drumming taught me discipline and the beauty of falling in love with the process itself — that magical place where patience, creativity, and strategy meet.
In hindsight, it’s no surprise I also discovered a natural ability to understand people. Long before I ever heard the word “empath,” I was reading emotions, intentions, and energies instinctively, a skill that would prove invaluable in both business and leadership later on.
Building Dreams, Leaving Footprints
After University, my first real test came in the sales trenches at Mibisco (Supaloaf), managing a team of 28 and expanding market territories. It was solid, honest work, but deep down, a quiet restlessness grew. I yearned for something more creative, impactful, and purpose-driven.
That restlessness led me to enroll in a Google digital marketing course in 2018. The world of marketing and technology finally converged for me, and it felt like coming home.
Rather than wait for the perfect opportunity, I quit my sales job and jumped in headfirst. First by launching a laundry business with a friend in 2019, Buttons House of Laundry.
Turning Challenges Into Triumphs
With nothing but new knowledge, a tight budget, and big dreams, we launched our business, and I threw myself into the marketing, crafting campaigns that defied our tucked-away location and pulled in customers in droves.

Soon, word spread beyond our walls: neighboring businesses started asking for our “secret sauce.”
We had built something real!
The company that sold us the laundry equipment would even bring aspiring entrepreneurs to our shop, pointing to Buttons as a living, breathing example of what was possible with the right branding, grit, and heart.
Years later, while driving through the old neighborhood, I spotted something unexpected: a new shop called “Red Buttons,” carrying a familiar name and even mimicking our logo’s font.
I couldn’t help but smile.
Even after we had closed, even after life had moved on, the echo of what we built lived on.
Of course, life had its way of humbling us before then. COVID, rising costs, and tough business conditions forced us to shut down in 2022. But I walked away not with regret, but with real-world experience, sharpened skills, and a renewed sense of clarity.
A New Beginning: Building Pointman Marketing from Scratch
Through all the ups and downs, one truth stood out:
Business owners are often too busy juggling everything to give marketing the attention it demands.
There was a clear, pressing need, one that I was uniquely prepared to fill.
In 2023, after months of refining my skills, I founded Pointman Marketing.
With little more than passion, resilience, and a laptop, I built everything from scratch:
- I designed the website.
- I wrote the content.
- I ran the first client campaigns, securing measurable results.
Growing the Dream: Pointman Marketing’s Vision
It wasn’t easy. Financial insecurity, steep learning curves, and client acquisition challenges tested me daily.
But resourcefulness became my superpower, teaching myself web design through YouTube tutorials, using ChatGPT for creative support, and stretching every shilling to its fullest.

Today, Pointman Marketing offers a full range of digital marketing services designed to help service-based SMEs grow and thrive.
We start with branding to build a strong foundation, then drive growth through lead generation and client acquisition.
We run highly targeted Meta and Google ads, create engaging content, and manage social media to keep businesses connected with their audiences.
We also design professional websites, boost online visibility with SEO, and strengthen customer relationships through email marketing.
Our goal is simple: to make marketing powerful, effective, and easy, so our clients can focus on doing what they do best: growing their businesses.
A Future Built on Purpose
If there’s one philosophy that guides me, it’s Ikigai, the Japanese principle of finding the intersection between what you love, what you’re good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for.
For me, Pointman Marketing sits right at that crossroads.
Beyond business, I dream of building something bigger than myself, something that creates opportunity, fuels growth, and leaves a lasting mark long after I’m gone.
